MER Service can supply MED-certified marine mattresses in any required size. The practical starting point is a dimensioned berth specification, followed by confirmation of the selected model and its current conformity documents.
Measure the berth, not only the old mattress
Provide the available length, width and permitted mattress thickness. Check whether the berth is rectangular, tapered or has rounded corners, recesses, hinges or a lifting panel. A drawing or photograph with measurements helps prevent an apparently small shape difference from becoming an installation problem. If you are replacing an old mattress, note whether it still fits the berth properly; worn foam can distort the original dimensions.
Specify the intended construction
State the quantity, preferred firmness, cover finish, removable-cover requirement and any handling constraints. If the berth has a non-standard contour, supply a dimensioned sketch or arrange a measurement before manufacture. For a multi-cabin order, label each berth individually so mattresses can be matched to cabins on delivery.
Check that the documents match the product
The MED Wheelmark should not be treated as a generic graphic applicable to every mattress. Request current conformity documentation for the specific mattress model and construction being ordered, and confirm which product identification and documents will accompany delivery. The relevant approvals and records should be checked against the vessel’s purchasing and technical requirements before the order is finalized.
MER Service offers mattresses with valid MED certification; the documentation for the selected model is confirmed in the quotation and order process. A custom dimension does not remove the need to verify that the resulting product falls within the applicable certified scope.
Plan delivery with the port call
Send the vessel name, IMO number, port, berth or agent details and the required delivery window. MER Service can coordinate mattress supply with cabin stores and marine upholstery work in Gdynia, Gdańsk and other Polish ports. For unusual dimensions, allow time for specification review and production before confirming a delivery date.
